Tait Communications congratulates its Chairman, Brian Roche, on being made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (KNZM).
Sir Brian's knighthood, for services to the State and business, was announced in the2017 New Zealand New Year Honours List.
Sir Brian has been the Chairman of Tait Communications since December 2015. An accountant by profession, he has held a wide variety of New Zealand leadership roles, across a number of sectors, including as Group Chief Executive Officer of New Zealand Post and Chairman of the Hurricanes professional rugby franchise. He was an advisor to four New Zealand Prime Ministers and in 2013 received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Victoria University.
Garry Diack, Tait's Chief Executive Officer, says the company has benefitted greatly from having attracted to its governance team a leader of Sir Brian's calibre. "On behalf of Tait Communications, we offer our congratulations to Sir Brian. The honour is due recognition for many years of great service to the country and its commercial enterprises and is well deserved."
Sir Brian says he has been very fortunate to have been able to "work with great people on some important things." He says it is those many other people, including co-workers and his very supportive family members, who deserve much of the credit for the honour.
"Getting groups of people together, getting alignment, getting a common objective and then executing is, professionally, one of the most satisfying things you can do," Sir Brian says. "I've been lucky to be able to be of service in this way."
