Tait provides clients with a flexibile "pathway to digital" with DMR Tier 2 quad-mode radios
Critical communications solutions provider Tait Communications is demonstrating its 'pathway to digital radio' at two trade shows in the UK and Germany with the introduction of its quad mode portable and mobile radios: the TP9300 and TM9300.
"The Tait 9300 terminals give our clients a flexible and easy pathway to digital solutions because they can operate in analogue conventional, MPT1327, DMR Tier 2 and DMR Tier 3 modes," says James Kyd, Chief Marketing Officer for Tait Communications.
"This means that for our clients running an analogue system today can get many of the benefits that only come with a full digital solution, without the significant capital investment. They can then choose the time that works best for them to migrate to digital - a simple software update to fully-enable the terminals for tri mode with Tier 2, or quad mode up to Tier 3."
As well as giving analogue users a choice of migration paths to digital, the Tait solution enables DMR tier 2 users to move easily to an open standards-based DMR Tier 3 trunked digital radio solution, when combined with the Tait TN9300 DMR network architecture.
Tait is demonstrating its DMR Tier 2 capability using its quad mode terminals at the Federation of Communication Services Trade Show in Birmingham, UK and the PMR expo in Cologne throughout November. The TP9300 features superior Tait industrial design, exceeds IP67 military environmental standards, with built-in GPS, Bluetooth and 'man down' capability.

"Our demonstrations at these exhibitions will show that these things are no longer a barrier – there's a digital-ready solution available today from Tait that can work with existing systems to provide the flexibility and choice to protect our clients' long-term investment."
