P25 Solution Centre members join forces to demonstrate benefits of ISSI and CSSI at Comms Connect, Melbourne
Four P25 Solution Centre (PSC) members supporting open standards – Tait Communications, Airwave Solutions, Auria Wireless and Zetron – have chosen the upcoming Comms Connect event to give live demonstrations of P25 system interconnections, ISSI (Inter RF Subsystem Interface) and CSSI (Console Subsystem Interface).
"Giving clients real value for money through multi-vendor compatibility is a core objective of the P25 suite of digital radio standards," says Anthony Blyth, Asia-Pacific Marketing Manager for Tait Communications. "What the ISSI and CSSI system interconnections really provide clients with is choice, which is critical when they are considering a new system procurement, replacement or expansion.
"The P25 standards mean they can choose who they work with and are not locked-in to a single vendor or solution. The live demonstration will show how multiple organisations can share their resources more effectively to cooperate across their areas of operation," says Mr Blyth.
Organisations can retain future options for interconnection between P25 networks, by using standardised system interfaces. This removes the last proprietary link between P25 conventional and trunked networks and brings with it key benefits including multi-network interoperability for extended coverage, mutual aid and future-proofing, and multi-vendor procurement for purchasing flexibility and choice.
The live presentation and demonstration will be hosted by Mark Ward, Airwave Solutions Australia at 3.30pm Melbourne time, Thursday 21November. There are also opportunities for event delegates to schedule appointments to see the official presentation and demonstration during the Comms Connect conference (21-22 November, 2013).
About the P25 Solution Centre
The P25 Solution Centre (PSC) is an industry initiative for testing multi-vendor interoperability and provides the perfect environment to experience a specified system working in a real-life situation. The PSC is made up of a number of market-leading radio infrastructure, dispatch and terminal vendors working collaboratively to deliver a range of open standards based P25 technology solutions. The live P25 ISSI and CSSI demonstrations will validate the core objectives of the PSC, including multi-vendor interoperability, P25 open standards and choice and flexibility of solution makeup.
