Tait partners with Science Alive! to promote technology in schools

Tait Communications is getting behind a new initiative from New Zealand Science Centre Science Alive! to further promote classroom education in science, engineering and technology.

With sponsorship support from Tait, Science Alive! will extend its electronics and robotics programs to cater for intermediate and secondary-school children aged 5 to 14 years.

The new programs will provide professional teacher-development opportunities and additional resources to support learning in the classroom and during school-holiday programs.

"Science Alive! has provided science and technology programs to New Zealand students for 20 years, and the center is in a unique position to provide teachers and students with high-quality technology programs and resources.

"The new programs will introduce students to a variety of technology topics and help to inspire, challenge and create lasting interest, opening up young people to the possibility of future study and careers in science and technology fields," adds Frank.

Tait Communications is also a founding partner of the University of Canterbury's Wireless Research Centre. The centre, which is housed in the National ICT Innovation Institute (NZi3), brings together leading academic researchers from around the world, technology and communication-based companies, students and government to undertake ground-breaking research in wireless communication.
