Tait welcomes new managing director
Tait colleagues welcomed Frank Owen who started today as Managing Director (Designate) at Tait Electronics Limited. He is replacing retiring Managing Director Michael Chick who, after a period of transition, will be moving on to the Tait Board as a non-executive director in 2009.
Frank joins at an exciting time for the company, with a growing order book and new solutions in the pipeline.
"Thanks to Michael and the whole Tait team, this great company has already started transforming itself from being a 'radio maker' to a customer-centred radio solutions business," said Frank.
"I'm eager to hear first-hand about the needs of our customers such as public safety agencies, utilities and transport providers. And I'll be taking every opportunity at the forthcoming International Wireless Communications Expo in Las Vegas to learn about how we can serve them better."

Mr Owen has worked as an electronics engineer for Philips in the UK, France, Holland and Austria before moving to the United States initially with Raychem and then Tyco. At Tyco he was responsible for the Power Components Divisions with over 4,400 staff worldwide.
Mr Owen has a BSc First Class in Electronic Engineering from the University of London and an MBA from IMD International in Switzerland. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Radio Amateur Licence Holder and a Director of the Canterbury Development Corporation.
