Avtec, Airbus DS (formerly Cassidian Communications), Eventide, Exacom, Tait Communications, and Zetron recently joined together to host a special event to focus on the importance and the benefits of open standards.
Eight different speakers, including two Public Safety communication managers, shared insights and experience about open standard solutions. Although the event was for consultants, the content was so good that we decided to share it with you here.
Three different topics were covered, and in this first section we'll explore P25 Component Interoperability – the Key to Lower costs.

Marty Christensen is the Product Area Business Manager for Cassidian Communications, having held previous positions in Product Line Management and Sales. Since the mid 70's, Marty has worked for private two-way service centers, Motorola, EF Johnson, and Cassidian Communications, where he manages the P25 Infrastructure Business.
Darek Wieczorek has been involved in radio communications for over 30 years. Darek's experience spans from hands-on maintenance work through system engineering, coverage engineering, project management, product management, consulting and many additional aspects of Land Mobile Radio.
Helmut Koch is the President of Exacom, a company he helped found in in 1986. Since then, EXACOM has grown to become a leading manufacturer of multi-media recording solutions for public safety, homeland security, defense, utilities and transportation applications.
